At key2creative we talk ‘Not For Profit’ all the time. ‘Not For Profit’ is a large part of what we do.
So the next logical step was to walk the walk, and here we are, putting our preaching to practice, our best foot forward you might say, and it makes us all warm and fuzzy inside.
Do we like to walk… well… we don’t hate it.
Tomorrow, four intrepid travellers from the key2creative family will embark on a mammoth mission. The 100km Oxfam Trailwalker event.
The event begins at Kalamunda, heads up the Zig Zag and then continues through challenging bushland tracks, stunning national parks and trails whilst winding our way through some of the most stunning tracks in the Perth hills… with a bit of luck and and a lot of hard walking… we will eventually finish at Lake Leschenaultia in Chidlow. (Yes.. it’s a bloody LONG WAY).
Check out the trail and be impressed ;)
Our awesome team of four – Fiona, Steve, Craig and myself – team ‘Scrambled Legs’ – have trained for many months for this event and will have just 48 hours to walk the 100km trail (although, we plan to ‘attempt’ it in 30-ish;). It’s very likely that we’ll walk through the night (with little or no sleep) until the very end… (Really!).
So far we’ve managed to raise over $3,500 for this very worthy cause. Visit our team page to see the current tally.
This event raises vital funds for Oxfam Australia. Oxfam works in more than 28 countries and Indigenous Australia. The work that Oxfam does is vital to so many people worldwide and 100km is a long way to walk! But putting ourselves through months of intense training to walk 100km is worth it for the impact our fundraising has on others through Oxfam Australia’s programs.
To assist us in this fundraising effort we’ve had donations from many of our families and friends, from so many of our awesome clients and from the staff at key2creative. SO a big thankyou to all of you who have supported us in this crazy caper.
A special thanks should go to our key sponsors who have generously given a large sum to help us on our way. Thanks to Brenda Harris at key2creative who (very generously) not only funded our team’s registration costs but also dontated $500 to the cause. Thanks to our valued suppliers Alan at Daniels Printing, Amit at Quality Press and Jim at Bodimasta for each donating a sum of $500 in support of our teams efforts.
I’d also like to recognise the amazing support we’ve had from our families, staff, clients, suppliers and of course our awesome support team/pit crew June, Gina, Jason, Sandy and Marnie.
Thanks to you all and wish us good luck!
